BOARDING T’s & C’s

Terms and Conditions: Please take the time to read our Terms & Conditions carefully. By making a booking with us, you confirm that you have read & understood our Ts & Cs & agree to be bound by them.

We are open Mon – Sat between 10am – 11.0am & 3pm – 5pm for drop offs, collections or viewings. We are closed on Sundays.
These times MUST be adhered to unless an advanced prior arrangement has been made. At all other times we will be busy with feeding, cleaning, walks, playtimes etc & would not be fair to our guests to have these routines interrupted.

You will be charged from the day of arrival until the day of collection. If you collect your Dog early from their holiday with us, there will be no reduction in cost. A £20 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of any booking to secure your place with us. At least 50% of your total price must be paid NO LATER than 14 days before your dogs holiday with us otherwise you may lose your booking. The final balance must be paid NO LATER than the day you drop your dog off. Any cancellations made with less than 14 days notice will not be refunded.

All dogs must be fully vaccinated to cover the entirety of their stay with us. Vaccinations required are DHP, Leptospirosis & Kennel Cough. The Kennel Cough vaccination must be given at least two weeks prior to their stay & we will need to see their vaccination card when you drop your dog off. This is to comply with licensing conditions & for the safety of every other dog in our care at any given time. If you have no proof of vaccinations or they are out of date, your dog would not be allowed to stay & you would still be liable for the full amount owed.

Most of our guests enjoy their holiday but please remember some dogs may experience stress &/or separation issues, especially if they’ve never stayed away from home before. Please discuss any worries you may have with us or your vet before your dog comes to stay.
We have bedding, toys & puzzles for your dogs to enjoy & these are all cleaned & disinfected between each clients use. You are also welcome to bring anything you feel will help make your dogs stay more enjoyable. However, we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to these additional items.
You are responsible for supplying enough food for the duration of your dogs holiday with us. If there is not sufficient food you will be charged extra for any food we give on your behalf.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept bitches in season or any dog breeds (or part breeds) from the banned list. We also reserve the right to refuse any dog that appears to be in ill health or shows any sign of aggression towards our staff members.

The banned breeds are the Pitbull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Fila Brasileiro & the Dogo Argentino. Please be advised the government has now added XL bully types to the list of banned breeds. It is illegal to breed, sell, advertise, exchange, gift, rehome, abandon or allow XL bully type dogs to stray in England and Wales. You should also have a certificate of exemption from the government and comply with additional restrictions including keeping them on a lead and muzzled in public, having them neutered and having third party liability insurance.

What is an XL bully?
An American Bully XL, is the largest of the American bully types. They are not a registered breed with the Kennel Club in the UK and are a type of dog that has been bred from several different dog breeds.

How is an XL bully ‘type’ defined?
XL bullies are crossbreeds and Kennel Club breed standards do not exist. The government has therefore created its own specifications for the breed, which includes the size of their head and muzzle, their build, and the height and length of their body. Breed name, genetics and parentage are not considered.
The government has confirmed that the minimum height specified is a necessary requirement to meet the XL bully type specifications. The height should be measured from the ground to your dog’s withers (the top of the shoulders). For adult males this is from 20 inches, and females from 19 inches. Dogs that do not meet this height requirement will not be typed as an XL bully. If they do, they should be assessed against the rest of the specifications.
Please ensure you disclose all information about your dog/s. (health & behaviour issues, antisocial traits or aggressiveness, excessive barking etc past or present). Also if your dog has had any symptoms of vomiting diarrhoea in the past 48 hours. There are no details too small to mention.
If you are unable to pick your dog up on the agreed day for any reason, you must let us know ASAP. We will always try to help but cannot guarantee any extension, as their kennel may already be booked for another guest. In this case we will endeavour to contact your emergency contact. Ideally someone local to us who we can hand your pet over to in such an unforeseen scenario.

During their stay every dog will have the opportunity to participate in various activities to help with stimulation & enrichment as well as daily exercise consisting of free running in our large enclosed area or offsite walks with the owners permission. The enrichment could include Puzzle games, Kongs, Licky mats, ‘Find it’ or using our agility equipment. If you would prefer your dog not to be involved in any particular activity or if they have a different favourite activity you would like us to be aware of, please let us know when returning their registration forms.

We reserve the right to contact a veterinary surgeon if, in our opinion it is necessary. Any subsequent costs arising from this are the owners responsibility not Always Waggy Tails.
